| The James M. Bryan, Jr. Foundation Story | ||||||
|
James (Jimmy) Bryan, Jr. was CEO and General Manager of Bryan and Sons Contractors, and well known to many residents of the mid-shore. During his lifetime, Jimmy was an enthusiastic and generous supporter of local youth programs. He recognized the importance of such programs in developing values and self-esteem among young people.
With the support of many dozens of friends and colleagues, the James M. Bryan, Jr. "Building Dreams for Youth" Foundation has been established in the memory of Jimmy and Josh. The purpose of the Foundation is to help ensure that children on the Mid-Shore have the opportunity to experience personal growth and self-esteem through participation in youth sports, recreation and development programs. The Foundation also supports relief from poverty and provides scholarships for trade education careers. The Foundation is multi-faceted in its approach. In some cases, working through established service organizations, grants are provided to children and families that find themselves in emergency situations. In other cases, the Foundation acts in a more pro-active fashion, identifying exceptional youth programs and assisting in their growth and increased outreach. And in still others, it responds to requests for program support and capital needs. The James M. Bryan, Jr. Foundation provides donors with the opportunity to support a broad range of worthwhile youth programs with one annual contribution. In doing so, donors will help guarantee a brighter future for Mid-Shore's children, while honoring the memory of a kind and generous man. With the completion of the 5th annual Spring Event in 2008, raising over $100,000, the James M. Bryan Foundation is approaching $600,000 in endowments and almost $200,000 to youth. How can you help support the James M. Bryan "Building Dreams for Youth" Foundation?
